Smallest External Hard Disk Ever?

According the LaCie, the dimensions of the 250GB Rikiki are: 109.7 x 75 x 13.4 mm / 4.3 x 2.9 x .5 in.

Anyone know a smaller drive on the market?

Pretty much every 1.8" drive.
For example the Samsung S1 which dimensions are 87 x 62 x 15.5 mm / 3.4 x 2.4 x 0.6 in
I have one and I like it.

You could shrink wrap a 1.8" internal and it would be a little smaller.

How's the speed? Can it keep up with your typical 7200rpm?

Or at least a really thin yet sturdy plastic case? Could be a seller, tapping into the transparenct-case market.

How's the speed? Can it keep up with your typical 7200rpm?

The transfer rate is around 30 MB/s which is about the best you can expect for USB 2.0.
Access times are two times slower than my desktop 7200rpm drive but I don't really care about that because I use it to transfer media files.
