Hello.

Was wondering which of the 2 new series of graphics cards has higher power requirements. Does the 260/280 with the larger GPU use more power than the 4850/4870 with the smaller GPU? Also, I am running a 8800gtx on my main computer. Will the 8800gtx have the ability to run physics or not?

At idle, the GTX 260/280 use about the same ammount of power as the 4850 while the 4870 uses a bit more. Under load, the GTX 260 draws more power than the 4850 but less than the 4870 while the GTX 280 draws more power than the 4870.

Yes, all GF8, GF9 and GT 200 series cards can run CUDA PhysiX.

There is a guy who says you can run the physx on ATI cards as well, last i heard he was doing more tests before submiting the drivers.

All 8 series GeForce or later (with at least 256MB dedicated video memory) can use PhysX with NVidia's driver found here: http://www.nvidia.com/content/forc [...] wnload.asp
