More Information

I have two HD4870s in Crossfire, and I seem to be having problems with Catalyst A.I on both 8.6 & 8.7 drivers.
Now it tells me to keep AI settings in standard not advancded when using Crossfire, so of course I do that.

But when I have it in standard all my games have texture problems, it just seems the textures have not loaded(Its as if I have all game settings set to very very low texture wise, everything is blurred if you get me). Its in all games I play so obviously its the cards and very annoying. So I set A.I to disabled and then the games load the textures fine, but then I get performace issues I seem to get lag in some games I know I really shouldnt, and when using 3Dmark '06 I go from 18,000 when on catayst standard to 14,500 when A.I is disabled.

I'm just wondering is this a well known error, or is it just me.
Any help would be great.

thanks...

(oh and I've tried 8.6 and 8.7 drivers, so its not that)

From another forum:

Disable Crossfire in CCC Panel and see if it still does it.

If it doesnt, then its the Crossfire having a heart attack due to the older chipset and restrictions. I went from a P965 to a X48-DS4 with 3870's (and then with 4870's) and the difference was huge.

Crysis plays 1920*1200 at Very High DX10 vista at about 23-27FPS but HIGH manages 35-40fps with Crossfire Enabled with x4870's on a X48-DS4, with the P965 you are better off with ONE and not Crossfire thats for sure IMO.

afaik, disabling catalyst A.I, disables crossfire, when using crossfire, i believe you have to have it set to advanced. however, i am not sure what happens with the x2 as i have not bought one yet.
