I have a old computer sitting here and I plan to bring these things over to a new motherboard and new case.

But the after reading review of the motherboard, I'm somewhat concerned about power. I have a Thermaltake 500 Watt PSU with

I tried eXtreme Power Supply Calculator, but I doesn't seem to be working right.

My planned specs:

Antec 900 Case (Using both optional slots, 5 LED 120 mm fans and 1 200mm regular fan)
ASUS Crosshair II Formula
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Brisbane OCd to 3.2 GHz
Xigmatek HDT-S1283 CPU Cooler (120 mm)
2 Sticks DDR2 RAM
1 DVD-RW Lightscribe Drive
1 DVD-ROM Drive
1 9600 GT Overclocked to 730 MHz

Will my PSU handle it?

Once your PSU has the 20-pin and 4-pin connectors for the motherboard it should power that system, but it might be worth investing in a more powerful supply (750W), since the closer a PSU runs to its max power, the less efficiently it works. It'd also give you more headroom for future upgrades.

750watt i way overkill for this system, you might want to get a new one if the one you have is one with soo soo quality (i don't know your particular model)...and old. If your power supply is strong enough on the +12v, and have all the cable (connector) you need for the motherboard you buy, 500w is more than enough for your build...id say you will not use more than 250w....so you power supply will be at 50% of it capacity max... If you decide to get a new one... their is nothing wrong going for more watt than needed ....but 750 watt is overkill.

Get a good 550-650 watt model. Like a corsair, a pc power & cooling, seasonic, antec etc... this will give you enough headroom for future build. You can find good deal on power supply in this power range.

Well thanks for the help everyone. My new parts should come this december.

By the way, I have a Thermaltake PurePower 500 watt with 14 amps on 1 +12v rail and 15 amps on the other.
