X58 chipsets allow 2 x 16x lanes.
So both cards would run with 16 lanes each.

I can see four PCI-E 16 slots on the board. Although adding a third or fourth card will drop the lanes available to each.

No, the LE runs 4 (@ x16/x8/x4/x8)

Meaning the first card will run at x16 and the second at x8. IMO you wont see a difference (naked eye) just cause of the fact that the second GPU will be @ x8. As far as benchmarking goes, you will take a slight hit but nothing major nor noticible to the eye....

BTW there are other boards out there that have dual x16 slots.... The LE works wonders with a single massive GPU (5870 etc..) If you have not purchased the GPU/GPU's i would recommend 5870 for that specific board....

i say go with an ASUS rampage II GENE with two x16 lanes...this tiny lil baby works great~220$ i dont think it worth it to SLI two brand new GPUs now..
jst wait for the new tech or get a 5870..
