Is it really worth getting physics card, will it make any difference to gaming if you already got powerful pc which easily pass 3dmark06 10k's mark

Is there any thing like physx to work with ATI cards cause I got ASUS HD4850. I might get another ASUS HD4850 and use both in crossfire mode but not now may be in next 2-3 months
