Ok im at a loss at the moment. Ive just built a system from the parts in my sig and started getting random crashed when i had 2 sticks of 2gb G.Skill DDR2 installed. So ive been trying to troubleshoot but im getting random results from testing.....heres what ive tried using Memtest86+ v2.01.
1 - Stick A(thought to be good) in Slot 1, 10 passes, 0 errors
2 - Stick B(thought to be dodgy) in Slot 1, 10 passes, 0 errors
3 - Stick B in Slot 1, Stick A in Slot 3, Memtest would not run and crashed just as loading.
4 - Stick B in Slot 2, Stick A in Slot 4, 2 passes, 1071 errors (i kid you not!!!)
Currently running Stick B in Slot 2 on its own and it seems fine (1 pass, 0 errors when i left to go to work)?
From this it seems like Slots 3 and 4 are faulty as whenever theres a stick in one of these slots Memtest fails, but im a n00b when it comes to memory testing.
Could the sticks just not be working together properly? Is there something im missing???
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Ive already sent the mobo back to Gigabyte once because of a corrupted BIOS which prevented post, dont really want to send it again as it cost £17($30) each time...
Any help or suggestions welcome Cheers! Buz.

OK here's the rub, I think that when these guys at the motherboard makers company depot or the out sourced depot. They do a basic check on the motherboards. they have a tester machine where they plug in ram, cpu, video, HD and power and if it boots they put it a bin for redistribution.
If you have bad ram sockets you have reason to RMA the board again, but this time they sent you a bad board and should pay to have it sent back to them.
I had to do this with Asus 5 times here in the States, it took 6 months to fix the problem.
I will never buy Asus again ever, nothing they make will entice me.
I like DFI a bunch right now.
But yea they need to pay to send it back this time and insist on it.
Invoke any consumer laws that you need to to make this happen.
Cheers bobbknight, ive had a few suggestions for different settings to get both sticks working together. If they dont work then its on to Gigabyte i guess...
