Hi I've got a

E2160 Dual Core @1.8Ghz
2GB 667Mhz RAM
MSI HD4870 DDR5 512MB OC
Windows XP
Thermaltake 550W PS

My CPU is bottlenecking the frames per second of games such as Crysis, So im thinking of upgrading to an ASUS P5Q-PRO Motherboard and a E8500, also for such upcoming games as Far Cry 2 and fallout 3, COD5 etc.

But im wondering how much more performance (mainly in terms of frames per second) I will get from this upgrade? And also if they are a good combo.

And also im not interested in Overclocking anything.

Thanks for your help. :)

Since you're not interested in overclocking, I'd agree with Maziar and say go with an e84 or e8500. If you're willing to try overclocking though, you can save a lot of money and easily push the current cpu to 3ghz.

Or you could even push the e84 or e8500 up to 4ghz+

Since your not interested in over clocking get the e8500 for sure or maybe even the e8600 but you sure dont need a new motherboard, especially not a P5Q-pro.

I totally agree with you, but what motherboard is he using now? If it's an older one, it might not be able to support them.
