I buy whatever offers the best performance at the time. I usually go almost 2 years between upgrades so in the final 4 months in preparing for a new system I start uncovering the earth to find the best parts I can find. Of course 2 weeks after I am done, new stuff comes out so I can second guess myself and end up selling parts, buying new ones etc.

Oh, wow! There are so many choices, I don't know which one to pick.

I'm still bitter about my P4 that fried, so I'll vote for AMD.
