Hey,

This problem has been going on for quite a long time, and only now I could be arsed to ask about it...

I have a 8800GTS 640MB graphics card and it's great and all, but sometimes, when I start a game, after a while into the game it crashes, and I get an error notification at the system tray, saying my graphics card hardware drivers got disconnected and then recovered or something :S

Please help my solve this annoying problem...

my specs:

PCU : AMD Athlon 64 4600+ X2
GPU : nVIDIA GeForce8800GTS 640MB
Motherboard: ASUS M2N-E
RAM : 2gigs
Hardisk: 250gigs

Tell me if you need more information.

Thanks.

3 things to check
gpu temperatures,PSU and the driver= clean install the driver use driver cleaner
but more likely it is you card temp make sure you're case has a good air flow
and the card fan ,try use riva tuner and check if this happens when you rise the speed of the graphic card're fan to 100%

Typical sign of overheating, the message usually means the card is getting hot, so the the 3D drivers unloaded and the card was halted to prevent damage. Have you removed the card lately and simply blown the dust out of it, and the other fans in your case as well? Also check to make sure the fan is working correctly. Sometimes they do go bad.
