Hi all,

I have a question about my Q8400. It's not yet overclocked but I will try to do just that after, hopefully, getting some much needed answers.

Here's my first question :D :

When running CPU-Z it says that the core speed is only 2000.4 Mhz (see screenshot http://www.xsys-clan.se/CPU-Z_090913.bmp). Can anyone please explain why? It's supposed to run at 2.66 Ghz..

Thanks in advance!

Yeah multiplier drops to 6 when idling.
Run a Prime95 torture test in the background and you'll see the frequency and multiplier pop back up straight away.
