Just built a new system a couple weeks ago...

Vista Ultimate 64bit
ATI Radeon 4850
AMD Athlon X2 5000+ BE OC@3.0
4gbs DDR2 800

I was just wondering if my CPU was the bottleneck for games? For an example, i'll be playing world of warcraft, and i check the CCC for the graphics card and the activity only reaches 62% max. Is my CPU bottlenecking the graphics card?

What resolution are you playing at?

Here's a 3.0ghz AMD vs 3.1ghz Core 2:

As you can see, these are old **** games that no one plays anymore. On newer games, I bet there's an even larger discrepancy in FPS between an outdated Athlon X2 based chip and a new Core2 chip. Not to mention the e8000-series Core2's will overclock from 3.6ghz-4.1ghz.

In WOW the CPU (or internet connection) is always the bottleneck. That's different from most games.

Definitely WOW server and/or internet connection speed is/are the bottleneck.
