Assigned wrong drive letter.

I loaded xp on a toshiba netbook with an usb cdrom drive. When it finished loading my main drive was lettered E: and even thought the cdrom was not connected to the netboot it was C:. How can I install xp with the usb cdrom and get my hard drive to keep C: and not the CDRom? I noticed this when I installing drivers with a flash stick and I got the no disk error.

When you load XP, that's when the XP installer will ask you to name the drive. Apparently, you did not take notice of this. The installer named the drive for you.
Next time, name it manually.
