I have a low profile computer and as such can only fit low profile video cards in it. I've been looking to upgrade from my 8400GS to something with a little more power. My best picks right now (and they seem to be the only ones with the power I want) are this 8600GT and this HD3650, but I'm definitely leaning towards the 3650 because of heat issues in the 8600GT.
The problem resides in the fact that well, technology obviously is constantly improving, and with the ATI 4000 series coming out recently, I'm wondering if it would be worth it to wait for a low profile HD4650 or HD4670. It took a while for the low profile versions of the 8600GT and the HD3650 to come out (neither existed when I first bought the 8400GS), and though I wouldn't mind waiting maybe up to six months, I would like to know if the power difference would make it worth that wait.
Any answers? Advice? Suggestions? Things I've missed? Etc.
