hi,
I'm looking to build a new computer in the close future and I had in mind an intel build (a Q6600 and stuff like that) BUT when the radeon 4870 1GB ver. came out (I'm in Israel so we have less choices and things come here later and pricier) it became a little over my budget... so I checked the AMD option and it's cheaper. now I don't know which to choose...
my options are for AMD:
CPU: AMD Phenom X4 9850 Black Edition Box
₪996

Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-DS4
₪624

HD: Seagate ST3500320AS 500GB SATA2 32MB
₪364

GPU: Club3D ATI Radeon HD4870 1024MB PCIe
₪1790

CD Drive: LG GSA-GH22N X22 DVD
₪128

Case: Antec Nine Hundred
₪632

PSU: HEC Cougar 600W
₪515

CPU cooling: Zalman CNPS7500-AlCu LED
₪154

Case Fan (for the side hole): Zalman Case Fan ZM-F3 120mm
₪50

The Intel option is:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Tray
₪837

Mobo: ASUS P5Q PRO
₪674

HD: Seagate ST3500320AS 500GB SATA2 32MB
₪364

Memory: Mushkin DDR2 4096MB (2048MBx2) 800Mhz CL 5-5-5-12 EM
₪440

GPU: Club3D ATI Radeon HD4870 1024MB PCIe
₪1790

CD Drive: LG GSA-GH22N X22 DVD
₪128

Case: Antec Nine Hundred
₪632

PSU: HEC Cougar 600W
₪515

CPU Cooling: Zalman CNPS7500-AlCu LED
₪154

Case Fan: Zalman Case Fan ZM-F3 120mm
₪50

prices are notes in Sheqels, 1USD=3.5ILS.
the computer will be used for gaming (on a 22" monitor), photoshop and some (light) video editing.

thx, that's very reassuring.
btw, I know Phenoms are bad for gaming, but who does need this kind of processor? it seems to be pretty good (especially w/ the cost)...
