Forum Graphics & Displays : Graphics Cards 9600 GT 512 MB compatibility

Right. So I changed my mind. I decided to build my own comp. Here Goes.....

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
2 X 2 GB Transcend DDR2 @ 667 MHz
GeForce 9600 GT 512 MB
250 GB SATA
DVD RW

Now, the only prob is the mobo... I really want a good graphics card, but I also want a cheap mobo. The ones that come with PCI-E 2.0 seem to cost a lot. So, I thought of sticking to PCI-E 1.1 But I want to know about the performance difference of the 9600 GT on PCI-E 2.0 and 1.1

Thanks!!

How much of a traffic jam will you have with 5 cars on a road with 25 lanes?

Randomizer, great analogy.

GA-P35-DS3L
9600GT will not need PCI-E x16 2.0.
PCI-E x16 1.1 will not restrict it at the least.
PCI-E x16 2.0, 1.1, 1.0 are all backwards compatible.

I second the DS3L, solid board. Not a solid overclocker of quads, but you wanted cheap, and its one of the best cheap boards around.

PCIE 2.0 cards are backwards compatible with pcie 1.1 there will be NO difference in performance. No cards can even exceed pcie 1.1's bandwidth yet.
