My Setup is as Follows:


No Case at this point ... purchasing a new one soon however i have a large fan blowing on my ram and cpu and harddrive ..

Intel i7 2.66 GHZ i7-920 WITH STOCK HEATSINK/FAN Model Number BX80601920

12gb 1600MHZ Trichannel Patriot Viper Series DDR3 ram (6 x 2gb ) Model Number PT000004-PVT36G1600ELK

Evga x58 3x Sli Motherboard with default bios ... Phoenix - AwardBios CMOS Model Number 132-BL-E758-A1

My Default RAM Settings are:

9-9-9-24 and 1.65v at 1600mhzs -- on Patriots Website

this i do not want to change .....

i7 2.66 ghz i want to overclock to 3.0ghz or higher ... i have heard 4.8 ghz at highest but new heatsink fan would be required ....

i need to know exactly what settings to configure in my particular bios and what the exact settings should be set to , to overclock my 2.66ghz cpu up to 3.0 ghz or higher ... with my ram staying at its current voltage, which is lowest voltage setting on my board and 1600mhz .....

i am not able to get the core clock above 2.90 mhz with all settings set to auto and core clock changed to 142 ghz will not post if goes higher ....

Get the batch number however you might need to raise the VTT/Uncore voltage and the QPI voltage a bit.

Disable Turbo
Set Bclk to 200
Set Vcore to 1.4v
Set memory multiplier lower
Leave everything else on auto

Reboot

It's impossibel to get 920 to 4.8 because of the multiplier issue and 222 base clock limit.

i was able to get a 4.0 ghz with 1600 mhz on the ram but my system was getting too hot so i lower to 3.2 with 1600 and my system is much more stable ....
