I will soon be upgrading to a 9800 GTX with an intel q6600 running 2 gb of ram, going to go 4 gb though sometime in the future. I was wondering if my 450 Watt XCLIO PSU would be enough, here is the link to my psu. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817189003

I'm thinking not because I have to rely on molex cables to make my gfx card to work using the adapter. Correct me if I'm wrong but this may hinder performance on my 9800 gtx anyway? Seems to be running fine right now, will be upgrading to the q6600 processor to accompany the 9800 GTX card.

I will just buy a 1-2 6 pin adapter from newegg if I can do that. It will save me money as well. If not, I picked out this power supply http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152036
Let me know if that power supply would be ok if i can't just use an adapter. I read a lil about them and people say they work fine but will my wattage be enough for my new processor? It shouldn't be because i use an am2 4200 at 85w, and the q6600 is only 89w I believe, not much of a increase in watts as far as that goes.

You do realize that if you are using an am2 4200 now and switch to the Q6600 you will need a new motherboard as well?

450w is plenty to run that system.
The main question is if the PSU can actually deliver what is promised.
Often off-name PSUs list their rating as "Peak or Surge" power.
This is power they can hit for brief periods but not sustain.

If you are looking at a quality PSU, that is the load it's designed to be able to sustain for long periods while able to provide even more for brief periods. (I would still not plan on trying to max out a PSU, but its definitely far better to push a quality PSU closer to its limit than an off brand.)
