Changing 4870 Fan Speed by default?

I recently purchased a 4870 (VisionTek) and while I love the card it does get insanely hot when left with the stock cooler and default fan speed.
I've been doing some reading and found out how to change the Fan Speed by tweaking the profiles in Catalyst:
- Create a profile
- Edit the profile to set it to manual with a specific fan speed value (want)
- Load the profile

But from what I am reading the custom profile needs to be loaded/selected on boot each time (manually). Is there a way to set a custom profile by default on startup?
Also - is there an easier way to change profiles instead of going through catalyst control everytime (like something on my desktop I can double-click or something?)

Any advice / help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

I have done the fan fix in both vista and XP. It starts up automatically for me in both, so I am unsure why others need to start it every single time. Just make sure that you leave all of your ATI related stuff started up in the startup/services areas of msconfig. That is what I do and there are no problems.
