With some help, I managed to get this below $700 (thank you!). I wanted to start this thread to get comments on it before it's final. Anything I should change? I have a little more money to work with (since I was hoping to stay under $800).

For example, one component I thought about is whether I should upgrade the Mushkin memory from DDR2 800 to DDR2 1000. After rebates, the difference is only $25 more for the DDR2 1000.

DDR2 800: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820146731
DDR2 1000: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820146755

Given the other components (CPU, motherboard), would the DDR2 800 be a bottleneck? Would it be money well spent to upgrade this part?

Thanks!

Spend the extra money on a 4850, you will see alot better performance in games over the 3800.

If you plan on overclocking over 3.6 Ghz then yea the DDR 800 would bottleneck, but most people dont take there Q6600 that high.

Yes 4850. Forty extra dollars well spent.

Stay with the 800. You won't even run it at 800 unless you overclock.
