Yeah I'd like to stick with New Egg. I swapped out the case to the COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 to save some dough:

I'd like to stick with single core so it doesn't draw too much power. Also, how's the motherboard? I'd like to stick with integrated sound. Also, why should I buy the inferior Microsoft mouse which doesn't have a laser and costs a buck more? Oh, yeah, I forgot speakers, too, and my friend isn't much of an audiophile. How's this look? The total cost right now is $1100.88

E8400 single core? Or did you mean single GPU (as in video card?).
ASUS P5Q Pro is a great motherboard.

Keyboard and mouse choices are highly personal. A trip to the local Best Buy or Staples store to "try them out" is usually a good idea.

It's a good list so if you have a copy of Windows (or Linux) you're ready to go.

if you are running single card save some dough and get case with power supply included.

for example raidmax aztec/sagitta 2 comes with 530w psu....and has the newest connectors like the 8pin cpu thing and two 6pin pcie connectors so you can put another 4850 in future

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156219

if you dont like the looks get cooler master mid tower case with 550w psu included....you can put up to 7x 120mm case fans or 4x120mm + 3x120mm ;oo

That combo is $10 more than his current case and PSU.
And his PSU has free shipping which keeps the total cost even lower by about $21 for case/psu & shipping.

You can get the E8400 from microcenter for something like $150 now. Check it out to save some $$$. The build looks good. I agree with Noya - those are good suggestions.

somehow i don't think that $7 keyboard is a good idea. it would be worth it if you spent maybe $20 or so and get a better one. keyboards can wear out quickly if you use them alot, so you might as well get a good one.

No, if you are wanting to save power the P5Q Pro is the way to go. It has good crossfire performance unless you have a very large monitor... the reviews that showed it had poor CF performance were all done with very immature drivers.

If you need resolutions above those of a 24" monitor, then you might want to do the x48.

However, the biggest power drain you could possibly make would be adding that second card.

If you really are concerned about power and only intend to run one GPU, then consider a plain P45 board or even a P35.

Oh yeah and the Centurion has bad airflow. get a different case.
