I actually just ordered it, but I was wondering if it's going to be good to overclock. I have never overclocked a pc yet.
So basicly I just need to know if I should look into overclocking this system.
I don't do gaming or stuff like that just home use surfing the net and watching vids and stuff.
I agree you really don't need to overclock your PC for what you are going to for.
I would wait until your almost ready for an upgrade then maybe stretch your overclocking wings. That will extend the life of an aging machine, and at that point if you mess it up you wont care, and you will gain experience along the way.

I agree. For your intended use there is no need to overclock the processor or add to this system. It has plenty of everything for surfing, video playback, music and general use.
Your board is AM2/AM2+/AM3 so you can always look at a X2/X3/X4 Black Edition processor later on (new or used) if you find the X2 245 doesn't fit your future needs, even when overclocked.
Not only would I not overclock it, I would look into underclocking or more like undervolting. Its like overclocking but in reverse. Your uses are so light that I'd be looking to save on electricity and heat output.

I agree with 4745454b, if you do a search Tom`s just had an article on undervolting systems. While it is largely a response to the push for everyone to OC... it will reduce the heat and energy consumption. OC in my opinion is a last ditch effort before you buy a system... with the notable exception of unlocked multipliers. I have a Phenom 7750 BE which I bumped from a 2.7 to a 3.0, a minor gain... but it matches my needs.
