Thanks again faster!

Anyways ordered pc finally last week. should get around beginning of week.

Antec 900
quad 6600
evga 9800GTX
2gb kinston hyperx 8500
1000wat PSu ultra x3
adding some slipstream fans
thermalright 120 UE
320gb seagate HDD
OCZ 64GB core V2
zalman mfc1 fan controller

I was looking for a fan to blow on a large area of the motherboard instead of adding a noisy 120 high FM was looking for the largest fan I can fit between the HD side and the motherbaord area opening which 11.8" which is 300mm.
So a fan around 250mm or 220mm would be best. I did look at the comair rotron, expensive and a bit extreme with super high CFM hitting the 300+. Problem is I can find someone who has this stuff in a decent price, and can ship overseas.

I plan on removing the ugly grill/plexiglass setuf for a complete plexiglass mod.
I did see all kinds of 220/250mm fans on the net, all having the same specs around 100cfm at 20db. decent but would like more CFM.
Any help appreciated.
btw, any way to add anotherfan in the top tray to help pull air out?
not worried about dust and not worried about noise. I only play with akg headphones.

Here's a collection of 250mm case fans:

I do not know if any of the vendors will ship to your location. The larger fans are designed to move more air than a typical case fan without increasing noise level. That is the concept. It works quite well. If you really want a higher airflow then purchase something like the CoolerMaster 932 HAF case, remove the three 230mm fans, and install a total of ten 120mm, high rpm, high cfm case fans - something like the Panasonic Panaflo fans. Of course your computer will wind up sounding like a jet engine.

I did look at those items and maybe one looked decent in one of the links, but around120cfm.
I wanted to ask about a comair 12v model but only has 2 wieres IMO. DB is 54 and I would like to be able to lower the noise down a bit, how would I go about doing it on a 2 wire fan in the zalman fan controller? I would obviously loose some cfm but figure 235cfm, i some to play with.

btw, could another fan fit in the top caddy area?

You've got the right idea - reducing the rpm to reduce the fan noise - unfortunately the Zalman fan controllers are made for 3 wire fans.

I do not have an Antec 900 case so I do not know about the top caddy area.

The very large 360mm fan is made for a side panel. If you are going to install a plexiglas panel, then you would have to cut a round hole in the plexiglas and mount the fan to the panel.

on the outside of the plexiglass or the inside wall of the PG . Just wondering about wheather it won't mount because of the right 5.25 row. it could help throw some wind on the drives as well.

mounting that is. mount on it from the inside or on the exterior door?
worried about the space if mounted from the inside..

The 360mm fan is normally mounted in the inside of the side panel. In your case it would be mounted to the inside of the side panel and it would be positioned toward the rear so that it does not interefe with the hard drive cage(s) at the front of the case. Here is an example of a 230mm fan mounted on the inside of the side panel:

Click on the image viewer and take a look at the photo of the side panel of the case. It is for a 230mm case fan. For a 360mm you will have to find out the thickness/height of the fan and compare it to the distance between the side panel and hard drive cage of your pc case to find out if there is enough room.

I have that fan, the diameter of the fan itself is about 300mm, the other 60mm is for the outer casing. Mount it on the outside. I didnt have room to mount on the inside because i have a midtower and my heatsink sticks out too far.

As you can see from Homeboy2's post, those large fans are meant to be used with very large cases.
