I just installed the new cpu, OCZ Stealth X Stream 700W power supply and a Zalman CNPS9900 LED heatsink and fan with Artic Silver Ceramique thermal compound in an Antec 300 case. i dont have the 3 optional 120mm fans but im getting them soon. i also have 2x2GB Corsair Dominator DDR2 8500/1066MHz with triple fan and im running Vista 64bit. i have AMD Overdrive but ive been informed to do all my OC'ing in the BIOS. i have Asus M4A78-EM with newest BIOS 1006. im not sure where to start. i am very new at this. ive read that people make small changes and then run a stability test. the only stability test ive seen is in AMD Overdrive. i'm only trying to get it to run at 3.7MHz tops. i dont wanna push it any further.
Like you said you have a "Black Edition [BE]" so it is really simple dig into your bios and just up the CPU Multiplier, just a little note ,,try to set it to a whole number like 16 [just an example] not say 16.5,it seems that the AMD memory controllers do not like half numbers, you do not need to change anything else,,in fact you might find after becoming familiar with your system you might even be able to undervolt it..
