This is my first time, and I'm having trouble finding out if parts are compatible (or perhaps I'm just being overly paranoid). If you experts could please take a look at this for me and let me know if I've made any errors. Also, any advice would be appreciated. I plan on using the system for mostly casual usage with some gaming and would like the thing to last for 5+ years.

DFI BloodIron P35-T2RL LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @2.4GHz 1066FSB 8MB L2 Cache 64-bit

CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply 100 - 240 V
NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT 512MB 16x PCI Express
4GB (2x2) PC6400 DDR2/800 Dual Channel Memory
Plus your standard DVD+RW, all shoved into a case with two 120mm fans.

Any tips or glaring discrepencies?

Dunno about the Gigabyte P45 board... just read through all of its customer comments on NewEgg.com and there's quite a few people mentioning problems. I concur, though, about going with a P45 board.

Just trying to save you some cash, since you aren't going to be crossfiring.

The ASUS boards are good, but all the higher end ones have 2 or even 3 PCI-E slots, and are overkill for your budget and needs.

The P5Q pro is the most popular P45 right now. It's a bit more than you were spending and has two PCI-E slots and is crossfire ready. It's a nice board for sure.

This ASUS P43 board MIGHT be good. Not very well known yet but the price is great.

Yeah, I like the look of that price better. Is there a recognizable difference between the PQ5L Pro and the PQ5L-E?

Bearing in mind that I do not overclock.

Thanks. You've been a lot of help, and I greatly appreciate the fact that there is still a forum on the internet left where I can admit my own ignorance on a topic without being ridiculed. :)
