I have a Seagate Barracuda 750 32mb (7200.12).
I am new to Windows 7 and am just learning about the Performance Index
everything in my machine scores up to 6.4 or better except the hard drive and I am trying to find out why.
I learned of the problem in Vista where Hard Disk scores wouldn't go above 5.9, but then the index only went to 5.9?
(I wouldn't know anything about it because I'm new to 7 just coming off an XP machine because I skipped out on Vista)
Is there a patch I'm needing?
I did try and adjusted the cache setting under 'Policies' in the 'Device Manager' by removing the check in checkbox but it did nothing.
Thanks for any suggestions you might have!

Your score is fine. The "problem" is that the HDD have mobility parts, is for this that can't score more that 5.9 or 6.4. I have 2x500GB Itachi, and my system score is 7.4, except in the HDD, that score 5.9 like yours.

If you want score more, you need a SSD.
