basics of my build

gigabyte x48 ds4
q6600 @ 3.2
visiontek 4870
2x2g ocz reaper 800 4-4-4-15

3dmark06 score = 15175

this seems low, i was expecting 17's

and should i just trade it in for 4850's in CF i heard there getting 19's

only problem is if my new game doesnt support CF ! :(

does this seem right or am i doing somthing wrong?

What setting are you using in 3DMark? Are you using the New ATI Driver 8.7? Are you running XP or Vista?

In CCC set 3D options to performance. If you run 3DMark with AA/AF then the score will be lower.

Dont base all your performance on 3DMark. I have the 4850 and stock was in the 13s, overclocked to 700/2200(1100) I got 15135.

Enable overdrive in CCC and let CCC find the max overclock. Then run 3DMark.

Vista will knock off about 1K if not more. Load XP and you'll see that you're closer to 17K like you wanted.

You may want to pickup Vantage and see how that works out.

compare fps in games with systems with similar parts.

Driver updates? Throttling? high 15000 is pretty insane.

Driver Updates and check BIOS settings RAM Timings are sometimes better entered manually if you know them.
Direct X updates?
There are Vista Tweaks that can give you a little more speed by disabling some of the graphical parts in vista.
And BIOS updates, but if all else fails, sell it and build a SLI Machine.. LOL

I just started a thread a second ago, I have a fairly similar build, slightly faster ram and an stock 9450 (2.66ghz)(I will overclock in the next couple of days) and i got a score of 13955, if i oc'd my cpu to around 3.3-3.4 i would expect pretty similar results to u. i dont take too much into them, as flyin15sec vista can effect it etc.
