I'm trying to activate the use of cntl alt del to lock my screen. While I do have a password and I am the admin for the computer, there is not advanced tab that shows up - which would allow me to activate cntl alt del.

ctrl+alt+delete doesn't lock the screen, that opens the task manager. Try pressing windows key+L.
