So I recently updated my computer, put a new motherboard, new cpu, vid card, ram, etc..

I had booted the first time, no problem, had to reload windows due to bsod no problem. Got it all going and everything, opened up call of duty 4 and bam first crash, so I figure it just overheated so I let it cool down and tried again started up fine later. Uhm.. well it was overheating because I was an idiot and accidentally put thermal adhesive instead of thermal grease between the heatsink and the proc.. but didn't realize this until later, I cleared off the adhesive.

But the specs are:

Proc: Core 2 dou 2.53 ghz forget the exact model number..
Motherboard: Asus P5N-e SLi
Ram: 2 x 2gb Corsair ram...
Video Card: GTX 260

So heres the problem now..
I go to boot and everything appears normal, it comes to the Motherboard screen and ask me either to go to POST screen or enter set up, if I click nothing it goes to boot as normal but restarts? Any ideas...need help asap....

Sound like you might have damaged your CPU chip, assuming thats the heatsink your refering to.
But run Memtest386 to check ur RAM as well.
Save Defaults to the BIOS, How far into booting do you get?
can you get the windows logo?
Have you tried booting into safemode?

Bought a new cpu. A core 2 dou at 3.0 ghz and it didn't fix the problem, traded in the motherboard for a new one of the same thing, it booted and went into windows after a while it crashed and went to blue screen with display message
"BUGCODE USB DRIVER"
looked up found out that I might have needed a bigger psu, as the 260gtx is requiring a minimum of 500 watts and I had only a 500 watt psu, bought a new 700 watt psu. And it will not boot at the moment, it starts, power goes threw everything and just no screen display, everything is plugged in and working just the monitor light wont go to green from orange.

I need to reset the cmos, im sure of it. I don't know how to on this board though.....I looked in the manual and they only have a switch for the RTC reset. Is the same as the cmos reset?

As of now, I can't even get into my bios..

Ok so I am still having the problem, don't know what to do. Reset the cmos, moved the jumpers took out the battery. No luck.

I guess today I will try another video card, although I am sure that that video card is fine. And then different RAM to see if there is any fault there.

Anyone have any other ideas? I don't know what to do any more.

Alright, got it to boot up, finally. Did some research on the Asus website, and signed up but can't for some reason post threads on there yet. To new of a member I am guessing.

Well the problem, is my memory I have 2 Corsair XMS2 6400 2 Gig Strips

What I eventually did, was took out one of my strips and it booted, now I want to get my other 2 gigs in there instead of sitting in front of me on my desk. But when I put it in it will not boot into post. Basically what I read was that I need to change the voltage for the motherboard to run both of them at the same time. And I need to know what to change it too so that it will run stable. I never really messed with the memory settings in the bios before, so.... Thanks for your help in advance.
