As far as i know its not going to be released

because its simply too heavy to be mounted on a mobo w/o severely warping/breaking it

EDIT: w/ the amount that heatsink ALONE will cost... you could get much better case airflow which will work better... or tack on a bit more cash and get a decent watercooling rig...

Well recently I heard that they will be releasing it at a cost of $99.99 with a weight of 1.8kg.

makes ya wonder if they actually melted $100 worth of pennies to make that.

IN THAT CASE, ITS A BARGAIN!!!!

i read this somewhere, cant remember where now though but

copper is good at taking in a lot of heat

but it is slower at releasing the heat to the surrounding air, but is decent in transferring it to another metal

aluminum is better at radiating the heat to surrounding air but doesnt take in a lot of heat that quickly

thats why you have copper base + aluminum fin heat sinks, best of both worlds type of deal

and yea copper (at # 29) is more than twice as heavy as aluminum (at # 13) which means it will warp your mobo :/

oh and copper is more expensive too

i have a thermalright ultra 120 with copper base and aluminum fins and it keeps the e8400 @ 3.8ghz at around 33 idle and 53 or so full load

seems good enough to me

dang, that would dissapate heat really fast:D
my golden orb 2 has a copper base and aluminum fins similer to kamkal's heatsink. not as effective as an all aluminum or all copper design becuase theyre differant elements and one is more conductive then the other.
