Can't move files

Im trying to move files from one external harddrive to another. Some files i can move with no problem, but some i can't. Windows tells me there's not enough free space on the harddisk, but there over 540 gb free. The files are only around 2-6 gb and when i try to move them to a different harddrive there's no problem.

Why is this happening?

The external HDD must be NTFS, or your can't move all your files.

You can use Disk managment to convert your external drive from FAT32 to NTFS to allow files larger then 4 GB to be moved/copied over. You can't copy/move files larger then 4 GB to a FAT32 file system.

I re-formated the harddrive to NTFS and the problem was solved, thanks....
