Blowing air down into the heatsink? or sucking air up through it? What are most stock fans and heat-sinks set for??

The stock cpu heatsinks typically come equipped with fans that blow air down into the heatsink. The third party aftermarket cpu heatsinks are oriented so that the heatsink fan blows air from front to back toward the exhaust fan on the rear panel or from bottom to top toward an exhaust fan on the top panel. Either way air flow and cooling is improved.
