Thanks a huge millions to everyone that responded with your ideas and constructive criticisms. As I stated in earlier posts I'm not a gamer myself and didn't know what was need or best suited to give the two kids a good performing system without breaking the bank. Based on your replies to me and searching posts here's the list of what I still need to get and what I already have.
Your comments are much appreciated... Thanks again,

Holy sht! Why couldn't you have been my dad?
Get 2 sticks of 2gb ddr2 800. And a P45 motherboard. Everything else is solid, you could even go with a smaller psu, ~600+w

First, what's the deal about the thread being flagged and reported to moderators... I do something wrong?
Next, my mistake on the memory I listed to order, it should be 4GB (2x2GB). I edited to correct it.
Also, give me your thoughts why the P45 ASUS would be better than the ASUS Rampage. The main reason I chose the Rampage was the ratings, I don't have any plans for dual video cards.
I'll also look more into the cpu Q6600 & Q9450. Is overclocking the reason? I've never fooled with that, is it something that can be done and keep stability?

yes the Rampage is an X48 chipset while a P45 board obviously has a P45 chipset. The X38/X48 chipsets support two or more crossfire slots that can run at 16x each (gives full bandwidth to dual cards). The newer P45 is limited to (1) Pcie 2.0 slot at 16x or (2) Pcie 2.0 slots running crossfire at 8x each.
Simply put the Rampage is the same as the P45 only better for 2 or more graphics cards. If you only plan on running one save your money and get a P45 board (P5Q-e).
The Q6600 and Q9450 are both capable of overclocking to 3.2Ghz easily with an aftermarket cooler. They will be completely stable.

Okay, been looking at the P45 boards, especially ASUS and the memory shown on them is all DDR2 1200. Does this mean I can't use DDR2 800 on them or do I have to use a Motherboard that specifically lists DDR2 800? Only three of them I can find is...

All this means is that the board supports all DDR2 memory UP TO DDR2-1200. You can use 800, 1066, etc. The fact that it supports higher frequency ram is a good thing and it gives greater overclocking potential.
I personally use XP 32bit for gaming and have another harddrive with VISTA 64bit on it. I have absolutely nothing against vista, but honestly I almost always use XP for any kind of gaming.
If you use a 32bit os, you will only be able to use 3.25GB of ram which really isn't too bad. In the end though it is really a personal choice.
