i am looking for some cooling fans on Newegg.com... i just don't know what a good ratio for the CFM to DB - price.

I just built my first system and the case i have has 1x80mm fan on the back and a top mounted PSU which has a 120mm exhaust fan built into it.

i just want good airflow for the system.!! So i have 3 spots for fans in my case... 2x80mm at the front bottom of the case and 1x120mm/92mm/80mm on the back; currently there is an 80mm fan in that spot (it came with the case)...

My plan is to move the 80mm to the front of the case(intake) and buy one 120mm or 92mm fan for the (exhaust) on the back.

I have been looking at fans for awhile and there are too many choices... so any tips on what fans i should look into would be greatly appreciated..

and should i have 2x80mm on the front/bottom instead of the 1x80mm i was going to move there?

kinda have a tight budget... maybe $20 total after taxes and shipping!!!

i WAS going to buy an aluminum 3inch flexi duct for $12 and hook it up to the AC vent and run the duct about 10ft - into the intake on the side of the case. The ac temp at the vent is around 65F and vent HAS TONs of air coming out if not to much. It would probably work great at cooling the whole system. But then i thought about it and in the winter its set on HEAT, and then all the times the AC is not running.. so i am just going to use fans..

Nice to see you back with a different approach :)

Lucky gave you a good research starting point. Manufacturer's DB specs for fans are to be taken with a grain of salt, so try hard not to use them as your sole data point. Among several other things, there is no info as to the distance from which the measurement (if any lol) was taken.

Good luck, touch base here, and let us know what you find. Maybe we can all learn a few things.

+1. If sound and space isn't a problem take a look at the Scythe Ultra Kaze. If you want good noise to CFM take a look at the Scythe Slipstream 110CFM.
