I attempted to upgrade to a newer bios and now the oem/post screen sits still for 5 minutes (literally), then everything is normal.
Problem is, the PC is a pre-built Hewlett Packard, the motherboard is ASUS, and the original bios that I had when I bought it was AMI (american megatrends).
It's been real fun searching for days and getting the true definition of "the runaround" from each of the three companies.

Here is info that may help you help me :)
Mobo model: PTGD1-LA
Mobo is ASUS built for HP
Bought it i 2004 and the bios that always worked was released 11/2004, that's all I can tell you.
Any help would be great, thx :)

thx for the reply but i solved the problem.

No offense, but I literally spent 12 hours on the net looking for the orig, typing in the model in a search engine was in the first few seconds.
Anyway, had to edit the bios that they do have available. It wasn't all bad, i fixed the 5 minute freeze issue, and added the bios for my cheap pci card so I can finally boot from it. Also replaced oem logo eith hot chicks but couldn't get the color to not look effed yp.

Anyway, thx a lot for the reply and sorry if I sounded like a d**k, anyeway, you were the only one out of 100 views.
