Hey guys, i built this syetem awhile back and now im looking into overclocking it since everythign has settles in.
I Started with overclocking my cpu a little bit, Im quite a novice at this and looking for some advice.
The 730a mobo has a very weird bios, to find setting you must go to Freq/voltage > CPU Features > somthing along those lines. (i know where it is just stating for others who may not and read this) I cant find the core voltage settings anywhere, i know cpu fid is the multiplier and cpu vid is some kinda voltage, i dont think its core, but i may be wrong.
FIRST QUESTION:
I got my cpu to 3.5 by changing the multiplier in CPU FID to 13 and kept CPU VID at 12 (stock w/e it is if im wrong) Booted windows just fine. Ran prime like 3 hours b4 blue screen. i was amazedto say the least CPU stays at 35c and 45c under full load. Anyways, Im trying to figure out how to get it higher, Its currently at 3.7 with CPU FID set to 15 (17.5x) Runs windows fine, but as soon as i test with prime it crash's. But ive been running it for hours on end and no crash (playing crysis editor making like 800 barrels fall from the sky (always fun) but all fine Untill i run prime32.
It didnt crash durring my barrel party! 3.7 Ghz - So is it Safe as is?
SECOND QUESTION:
I want to know how else can i make my computer faster? I heard you can overclock ram to match the FSB speed? Can somone fill me in on how to do all that and what equations to use? Here is a few pics of my CPU-Z.
