Hi,

I'm a noob here working on my first build, I have the NZXT Tempest case and the Corsair 750w PSU and Asus P5Q Deluxe. I am having trouble figuring out how to wire all of the fans (6 total). Each fans wire has a 3 pin connector and two 4 pin molex connectors (one male one female).

The MB has 2 3-pin connectors for chasis and power fans. Now if I connected two of the fans to the MB via those 3 pin connectors then the MB would control those fan speeds correct? But I don't have to connect any fans to the MB besides the CPU fan if I don't want the MB to control 2 of the fan speeds right? Also which fans in the case are the chasis and power fans?

What I want to do is just connect all 6 of the fans to the PSU (which would leave them all running at full speed right?) and get a fan control panel later when I get some more cash together. Now with that PSU I have 8 female molex connectors, do I just plug in the 6 male molex connectors from the fans to the female molex connectors on the PSU cables and then I'm done? If so, what are the extra female connectors for on the case fans, are they for people who have different PSU wiring, say the opposite of mine? If that is the case can I cut them off and shrink wrap them to get rid of the extra bulky cable or might I be screwing myself when I get a fan control panel later?

Lots of noob questions, so I thank everyone who has any input!

You can tie off the extra cables in some of the empty slots in the front of the case, or get a cable select power supply. Either way, you'll still have a few extra connectors to tuck in.

It is so you can piggy back a fan onto the supply of something else. Say you have no more power plugs available. You unplug your CD drive, plug the power cable into the fan, then plug the second connector into the CD drive again. You now have supply to the fan and CD drive from a single molex.

Exactyly, you can chain all of your fans off 1 molex connector if you like.
