Hello, I have read the posts for how to make IE my default browser. Only problem is when I go through the steps - tools - internet options - programs tab - there is no browser option it only shows the programs for email, etc. Is there any other way to set IE as my browser?

If IE is grayed out in options, it is set as the default browser. This has been my experiernce. It is possible some other browser is causing the gray out with IE8. Uninstalling other browsers may fix the gray out.

I agree with badge.

If that doesn't solve the problem, just install a different browser. When you open the other browser, it'll ask you if you want it to be default; say yes. Then go back and open IE, and since it's no longer the default browser, it'll ask you if you want it to be; say yes. Then simply remove the recently installed browser.
