Which memory packs of ddr3 triple will work with the Intel i7 940 core? i read somewhere that they only accept ddr3 800 and 1066 mhz and the extreme 965 accepts all the rest above???

Your best bet is to buy a triple channel kit or read the article on Tom's. There are voltage limitations which are the most important factor. I dont think there is a speed limitation per say, but voltage will limit the speeds.

I believe that the memory voltage is limited to 1.65 volts for safe operation. this low voltage does limit the board to ddr3 800 and 1066. A triple channel kit will be your best bet. but if your sure you wanna load up all the slots now then any memory at the 1.65 voltage should be fine.

Not exactly what i wanted to know, i wanted to know if 1600Mhz of memory will work with the intel i7 940!! i don't want to buy it and realise that it is not compatible and the cpu goes dead!!

Let me know!
