questions are

: i will also be getting a 4850 , but which brand will work best with the gigabyte p35 board. im thinking between asus and gigabyte . . . .??? i like asus but match gpu and board give me any advantages?

: now onto ram - will be getting 4gb - 2 x 2gb sticks - which brands work well with this cpu and board?? i like OCZ and GSKILL, but im just not sure, will be OC the q6600 to 3.0 to start

Hello and welcome to the forums mate :)

For the brand of GPU,it doesnt matter, both ASUS and GIGABYTE are good.

For RAM,brands like OCZ,CORSAIR,GEIL,G.SKILL,CRUCIAL..... are good,go for a DDR2 800 RAM with 4-4-4-x or lower timings.

im just really confused, ive been reading OC guides for days straight now.

i get the lower timings are better . . . but dont see any reviews of the mushkin from p35 board owners.

just trying to get some last minute advice before i pull the trigger - i want newegg to get this to me by sat!!!

Did you check to see if gigabyte had tested the RAM on the board? Always helps.

The Mushkin is technically the better RAM.

Neither RAM has been tested by Gigabyte. Doesn't mean they are bad. You could go to their list and pick out something they say works with their board if you want:
