I had my computer built for me 8 months ago and it is the first computer I have ever owned. I have been using a 8600GT and will be installing my new GTX260 tomorrow. Over the course of time I have changed the driver for my 8600GT a number of times and now I have driver files all over the place on my drive. Being new to computers I was not that careful in managing my files and now I would like to delete all of my old gpu driver files, but I need to be careful because some of my Nvidia files are for my chipset. I have been hearing about different driver cleaning programs, but I have no experience with them and I'm not going to start deleting Nvidia files if I'm not sure they are for my gpu or my nForce chipset. If anyone can offer any advice, wisdom, cautions, or recommendations I would like to hear from you...Thanks

Drive Sweeper
Driver Cleaner Pro
I use both when I reinstall drivers, just to be safe.

Edit-

Yes, but after that, it is extremely important to flush the remains, or any number of errors can occur.
