Hey guys,

I was looking at a good mobo for a 4870x2, and heard people saying that P5Q Pro is great for single GPUs, but I was wondering if that applies to the 4870x2 as well, since it is basically 2 GPUs in one? That may be a gross oversimplification, but that's my basic understanding.

The 4870x2 will work just as well on a P45 as on an X48. The reason why people say the P5Q Pro isn't that great for CF is that the P45 chipset can only do x8 CF, not full x16 as the X48 which limits the communication between the 2 cards. Since the 2 GPU on the 4870x2 don't use the PCI-E bus to communicate, it has close to no impact.

Thanks for the help. I actually was just wondering about the board in general, if its exceptional single GPU capabilities would be used on the Pro version, or if it would treat them like two separate GPUs. My question has been answered now :)

Thanks.
