I currently have one stick of 512 MB RAM in my system. I want to add this to it:

However, I'm unsure if it will work with my motherboard. Even if it does, is it possible for me to use both the existing 512 MB and the 1 GB I'm going to buy?

Also, it says the motherboard can only use SPD (Serial Presence Detection) RAM. What exactly does that mean?
