I know this is one of many comp build threads but i would greatly appreciate any feedback on this before I clicky buy button and drop a wad of cash that I have been saving for about a year.

Eventually this would be a xfire machine - heavy gaming - but just starting with 1x 4870. I read people have success using the aftermarket cooler - arctic cooler on it too. Any opinions on that?

I chose a large roomy case. Decent psu to get me through the long haul (future proofing this one) - Went with Vista 64bit, good choice?

I chose to buy an extra 120mm scythe fan to use with the Xigamatek.

I even heard some people have attached like an 80mm fan to the gpu arctic cooler heatsink with twisty ties. I am more concerned about noise more than heat actually. Heat is a concern but noise is more important - wife hates a loud machine...

HD 4870 uses a dual-slot cooler. I wouldn't change it.

If the pc isn't in the bedroom, what is she complaining about? If it is, you might want to swap the gpu fans out.
