I set up a drive bay cabinet and installed 6 Sata drives inside I had an old AT 250 watt I was using for power to 7 drives and multiplexor Looking for a AT 400 watt to replace the no lomger working one I have now but checking ebay and other sites only find them at 250 watts only all the bigger sizes are ATX only and they have a power line going to ther main board which I don't have in my rig
I am using an old Dell Dimension 4300 case with 7 sata drives installed plus a multiplexor the powr supply is an AT 250 watt generic model with 4 output lines which I attached Y connectors to making a total of eight sata power connectors plus a mini connector comnnecting the multiplexor too have no use for an ATX as have no mother board to install a power line connector
where can I buy just a generic AT power supply that will fit standard cases with a hard wired switch both on a cable and on the casing itself rated at 400 watts at least

OMG, talk about the things that time forgot. I don't think i can remember the last time i had an AT motherboard.

I'm actually quite confused how you found an AT motherboard that supports 7 sata drives.

Have you contacted Dell to see if they even have any AT power supplies? If not Dell, you could contact Antec or Inwin or any other case manufacturers to see if they have any 400 watt AT power supplies in stock.
