Hello,
i'm running xp pro sp2. after receiving error messages about system32 config, my system stopped booting. i ran following commands in recovery console to try to fix:
c:\windows\system32\config
ren software software.bad
ren system system.bad
copy \windows\repair\system
copy \windows\repair\software

my system boots up fine, but all my settings are gone, & it appears all my pics, documents don't show. but if I go to c drive, everything is there. IE has also reverted to ver. 6 & if I try to re-install it, or anything else, i get message it's already installed. How do i fix this? just copy data & reinstall xp?
