Samsung 1.5 Ext HD

Well, they're hard drives. Samsung now has a formidable reputation.

I think it's a fair deal if you need USB 2.0 ONLY. If I were you, I'd want esata too. Mainly because of the speed increase, but also for SMART support. (to check and see if your hard drive is healthy).

As of now, from my knowledge, USB 2.0 does not have SMART support.

If I were you, I'd get this:

It's worth the extra bit of money to get a custom enclosure with eSata. You'll save a bit of money from buying the HDD and enclosure separately than buying the premade external itself.
