All i have installed now are the basic ones the game with the GFX card do i need to completly uninstall the old drivers to update it or what becuase im guessing the new dirvers will help it.

current version: 8.500.0.0

Uninstall the current ones then install 8.8.

how do i uninstall the originale drivers

To make it easy go into your local disk (C) to ATI-> support->8.5(you said that was the catalyst version you were using)->Driver. In the driver folder there is a file called ATICimUn. Click that and it will uninstall all the ATI drivers for you. Just make sure you delete the ATI folder once you are done then install the current version.
