I finally got to the end of my problems and for all of you who paid attention...It ended up being the motherboard that was the problem. I got a new one and have it sitting on cardboard now and everything is working. My question is ...to keep this thing from shorting again in the case, how exactly should it sit...What was it I did wrong last time? Should the board NOT be touching the case or should it and what kind of screws should I use because I hear totally differnet things from everyone and I have no idea who to believe.

Thanks

Normally you get a set of screws which are hand screws you fasten in to the holes to the frame of the chassis. Well then you add the motherboard on top of these hand screws and then screw in your small screws to the hand screws. Use all of the holes the motherboard gives you thus preventing the motherboard from 'shifting' causing it to short. Any metal, conductive material(thermal paste for example), a fallen screw lost in the case, can all also cause shorts.

If you install that board without standoffs you will have the same problem. Do you or do you not have standoff mounte din your case. They look like this

or
