Hi

I wonder how these work together? could I reach at least 3.0 with stock cooling? reach 3.06 with this mobo and my old q6600.

thanks

I doubt it. The heatsinks for the 45 nm CPU's are about half the size of those for the 65 nm CPU's. The new heatsink does not give much reserve cooling capacity. And the lower internal multiplier of the Q9400 also limits your OC.

Unless you need a second computer, a Q6600 to Q9400 really isn't much of an upgrade.
